After
receiving my Ph.D degree from Technical University
of Berlin in December 1994, I joined Awassa College
of Agriculture (1995) and Addis Ababa University,
Economics Department (1996) with the rank of Assistant
Professor. I worked as a senior researcher in a
USAID project in Ethiopia conducted in collaboration
of Michigan University (1997). Since 1998, I have
been serving as the founding Director of the Association
of Ethiopian Microfinance Institutions (AEMFI).
I am the editor of the Microfinance Development
Review and African Journal of Microfinance and edited
and published various books and articles on food
security, agricultural marketing and microfinance
in reputable journal. I am currently the President
of the Ethiopian Economic Association (EEA).
