Luis González de Salceda is since 2000 Professor in the Department of Finance, Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, México City Campus. In 2001 leaded a technical team to create what is believed to be the first weather derivative contract in a developing country (http://www.environmental-finance.com/2001/0112dec/news.htm#dn1). In 2004 he was invited by professor Jerry Skees to be part of Global Agricultural Risk team of international consultants (http://www.globalagrisk.com/who%20we%20are.html). He was instrumental in designing an index insurance product for Perú (http://www.globalagrisk.com/where%20we%20work.html#Peru) delivered in 2006. He holds a PhD from the Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Economics Department, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
