Professor
Wydick's areas of specialization include the microeconomics
of development, labor economics, and applied game
theory. He has received funding from the Pew Charitable
Trust for research work in microfinance, and has
published articles on the subject in The Economic
Journal, Economic Development and Cultural Change,
World Development, and other journals. He is currently
operating under a grant from USAID with a collaborative
team of researchers from USF and UC Berkeley who
are investigating credit market information systems
in Latin America. Professor Wydick's teaching interests
are in the areas of development economics, international
economics, and game theory. He currently serves
as the director of the master's program in International
and Development Economics and as Chair of the Economics
Department at USF. In 2000 he was given the University's
Distinguished Research Award. Professor Wydick received
his Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley
in 1996.
