Annie Duflo is a Research Network Director at Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA). IPA is a New Haven based organization that applies rigorous research techniques to develop and test solutions to real-world problems faced by the poor in developing countries.
Prior to this, Annie was the Executive Director of the Centre for Micro Finance (CMF) at the Institute of Financial Management and Research (IFMR) in Chennai, India. CMF’s is a research centre that helps improve access to and quality of financial services to the poor in India through rigorous research and research based policy outreach, in partnership with various MFIs across India and academics across the world. Earlier, she has worked in Seva Mandir, an NGO in Udaipur and in the Jaipur branch of Pratham, an education NGO working across India. She also managed a large scale survey on health care status and health care delivery in Udaipur district, conducted in collaboration with Seva Mandir, MIT, Princeton, and the World Bank.
Annie holds a Master's degree in Social Sciences from EHESS-ENS in Paris and a Master's degree in Public Administration/International Development from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
